The winner receives a $25,000 grant and will represent Canada's Francophone music scene at MaMA Music & Convention in Paris this fall

MONTRÉAL, Sept. 8, 2026 /CNW/ -- SiriusXM Canada today announced Hawa B as the inaugural winner of Nouvelles Ondes SiriusXM, a national program dedicated to discovering and showcasing emerging Francophone artists. The announcement was made at the Festival de musique émergente en Abitibi-Témiscamingue (FME) on Saturday night, following standout performances by the three finalists, Grand Eugène, Hawa B and N Nao.

Hawa B takes home a $25,000 grant and will bring their music to the international stage this October with a performance at MaMA Music & Convention in Paris. The two other finalists each receive a $10,000 grant, along with mentorship opportunities and increased visibility across SiriusXM platforms.

A national platform for emerging Francophone talent

Launched in spring 2026, Nouvelles Ondes SiriusXM was created to discover, support and showcase emerging Francophone artists from across Canada. Following a national call for submissions, Grand Eugène, Hawa B and N Nao were selected as finalists by a jury of music industry professionals.

Over the summer, the three finalists each recorded an exclusive studio performance and music video, introducing audiences across the country to their music and artistry ahead of a nationwide public vote. The finalists also performed at the Festival d'été de Québec (FEQ) in July before reuniting at the FME for the final stage of the competition.

Throughout the program, acclaimed singer-songwriter Ariane Moffatt served as the official mentor, providing guidance and support to the artists along the way.
